Gaesim, a Korean word, means to open your mind. It is also the name of a Korean Buddhist temple.

Gaesim was commissioned by SEAMUS (the Society of Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States)/ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) and was dedicated to Sungeun Kim.
